Corporal Derek Napier, 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers

Remembering the Fallen:  on this day in 1973, Corporal Derek Napier, 2nd Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, died while on active service in Northern Ireland.

Corporal Napier was killed in a road traffic accident when the tank he was travelling in skidded on ice.  He lies buried in the Farnworth Cemetery in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Derek, from Tonge Moor, Bolton, was 32 years old.
